Serpentine Pavilion 2025
The Serpentine Pavilion is an annual architectural commission in London's Kensington Gardens, where internationally renowned architects are invited to design a temporary outdoor structure that serves as a public gathering space during the summer months. Since the program began in 2000, it has showcased groundbreaking designs from architects who had not yet completed a building in the UK at the time of their commission, making it a significant platform for architectural innovation and experimentation. Each pavilion exists for only three months before being dismantled and often relocated, creating an architectural event that draws visitors from around the world to experience cutting-edge design in a historic park setting. The project has featured designs by Zaha Hadid, Oscar Niemeyer, Frank Gehry, Ai Weiwei, and Frida Escobedo, amongst others, each bringing their unique vision to this prestigious commission.
